Two million 9-litre cases of Black Velvet sold annually make it the number two best selling Canadian whisky in the world, second only to Crown Royal. 

According to Heaven Hill, the Black Velvet brand fills an important gap in its already broad distilled spirits portfolio by expanding sales activities in the imported whisky category, and it fits perfectly with Heaven Hill's portfolio of high volume, quality brands. Along with its very popular high-volume whiskies, Black Velvet also has released several connoisseur whiskies in certain overseas markets.
