National Cocktail Hour with Beam Suntory Canada and BarChef

In the preachy Saturday morning episode of The All-New Super Friends Hour, a city is shrunken down into a bottle including the useless Wonder Twins. When the twins bump fists, Jayna can turn into any animal. Zan can change into any form of water. As we said, useless. With the globe dealing with a pandemic, an eagle carrying a bucket of water contributes nothing. But, if Zan were willing to turn himself into ice, then he might help the efforts of Beam Suntory Canada and Toronto’s BarChef as they combine their superpowers to make cocktails.

On Saturday, May 30, 2020, at 5 PM EST, world-class mixologist Frankie Solarik and Maker’s Mark national brand ambassador Ray Daniel will host a virtual nationwide cocktail hour with partial proceeds going to the Bartenders Benevolent Fund.

The Bartenders Benevolent Fund is a non-profit financial resource for bartenders, servers and front of house support staff working in Canada’s hospitality industry. When pandemic regulations were put in place, it sadly forced many bars and restaurant employees out of work. Donations made to the fund help these individuals facing severe financial hardship including those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

The event includes a live virtual mixology workshop where attendees will learn how to up their home cocktail game. Toronto residents within 35 km of BarChef have the opportunity to purchase a premium cocktail kit and workshop combo for $65. There is also a $25 cross-Canada option for those looking to join in without the kit. Go to the BarChef website for a list of items to participate.

This event is on top of Beam Suntory Canada’s already launched “First Shift Meals” program, which provides meals for bar and front of house staff who are currently out of work as well as a $50,0000 donation to the Bartenders Benevolent Fund.

Superheroes who shoot beams from their eyes don’t really exist, but bartenders who shoot Beam spirits into cocktails do. For more details on how you can support this cause, including buying a cocktail kit for Ray and Frankie’s online seminar, click here and we’ll see you there.
