Alberta Distillers Northern Keep Vodka

Born in Alberta

In 1946, Alberta Distillers was built in a Calgary industrial area surrounded by an abundant supply of rye grain and glacial foothill waters. It’s the steady flow of these two ingredients that have made ADL the planet’s largest producer of all rye whisky. They make so much rye that it’s hard to imagine they have time to make anything else, such as vodka. But, this is a powerhouse distillery equipped with a distilling rig that can do it all.

Beam Suntory Canada has introduced a new premium Canadian Vodka called Northern Keep made in the same stills famous for its rye. It’s a vodka crafted to celebrate the vast expanses of the fertile northern land including those who take care of it. To make the vodka, the distillery naturally did what they’ve been doing since 1946 and made Northern Keep by distilling a rye and winter wheat grown in their backyard into its purest form.

The vodka is distilled five times to a beautiful polish. This is a crisp vodka with faint peppery rye spices and traces of baked bread from the wheat. The palate is guided by a buttery, silky mouthfeel accented with a light powder sugar sweetness wrapped up with a microscopic drop of citrus zest. That zesty finish adds brightness to the delicate rye spice with a firm made in Canada stamp. And if you ask us, Northern Keep is best served neat with a chunk of ice the size of an Alberta grain elevator.
